日本では、模造品や海賊版を厳しく取り締まっており、日本国税関では水際での輸入差止めが行われ、警察も国内の流通を取り締まっています。しかし、毎日膨大な数の物品が輸入され、模造品や海賊版を発見することは容易ではありません。

一般財団法人対日貿易投資交流促進協会（ミプロ）は、日本国税関や警察が行う商標権に関する模造品や海賊版の取締りを支援するため活動している団体です。その活動のひとつが、外国企業の商標に関する情報として「外国ブランド権利者名簿」を日本全国の税関と警察へ提供することです。

弊所は、「外国ブランド権利者名簿」への掲載手続を代行いたします。外国ブランド権利者名簿は一年毎に発行されます。２０１４年版の募集締め切りは平成２５年９月３０日となっております。「外国ブランド権利者名簿」への掲載をご希望の商標があれば、弊所へご連絡ください（担当・三輪または大山）。

 Registering in the Directory of Foreign Brand Rights Holders

 In Japan, regulations to prevent the importation of unauthorized goods are being strictly enforced.  Japan Customs perform import suspensions and the police are striving to restrict the infiltration of such goods on the domestic market.  However, everyday vast amounts of products go through customs and it is difficult to distinguish the rightful products and trademarks from counterfeits.

 Manufactured Imports and Investment Promotion Organization (“MIPRO”) is an organization whose purpose it is to support customs and police officials in preventing import action of unauthorized products.  They do this by providing them with information and distributing the “Directory of Foreign Brand Rights Holders”, which is, a list of trademarks owned by foreign registrants.

 We like to offer you and your clients assistance in registering their marks in this Directory as a measure to further secure your rights in Japan.  If there are any trademarks you would like to list in the Directory, we will be more than happy to be your agent in Japan.  Please send us your inquiries to the above email address.

MIPRO invites foreign businesses located outside Japan to register their marks in the Directory annually.  The deadline for the 2014 issue is September 30, 2013.
